CARE OF YOUR STAINLESS STEEL BAR SINK

Your BLANCO stainless steel bar sink is made of 18 Gauge, 304 Series, 18/10 Chrome-Nickel Content. Your bar sink may be either a polished or satin finish, depending on the model purchased.

You may have purchased a P.V.D Brass bar sink that has exceptional resistance to abrasion and chemicals and is 4 times harder than regular brass.

GENERAL CARE & CLEANING:

· After every use, wipe the sink dry with a clean soft cloth. Wiping is the key; this will inhibit water spotting and/or tarnishing.

WHAT NOT TO DO:

· Do not use harsh alkali (i.e. oven cleaners) or acid base detergents (i.e. acid grout cleaner for tile) abrasive polishes or scouring powders. Note: this is a good rule of thumb for all plumbing fixtures regardless of material or finish.

SURFACE RUST & STAINS:

· Stainless steel does not rust.

· GORDON’S MIRACLE SHINE, FLITZ & BAR KEEPERS FRIEND are all effective at removing “surface” residue such as: tarnish, rust, lime deposits & hard water stains. Follow the directions on the bottle.

SCRATCHES:

· Scratches are inevitable in any sink material, including stainless steel. Over time, these scratches will become uniform with the sink’s grain.

· In regards to stainless steel, most minor scratches can be softened with a Scotch Brite (soft scour) pad, accompanied with a deep cleansing agent such as BAR KEEPERS FRIEND, COMET, ETC. Wet pad, apply cleansing agent, rub vigorously with the “grain” or finish of the sink (NOTE: DO NOT JUST RUB IN ONE AREA. YOU MUST RUB ACROSS THE ENTIRE SURFACE), then rinse thoroughly.

· For severe scratches, secure a pumice rubbing compound from a hardware store, and follow the directions on the package. Note: Once the sink’s finish has been restored to your satisfaction, Blanco recommends the purchase of a customized sink grid to protect the bowl’s bottom.
